All Municipalities in Carroll County will have elections in 2025
Carroll County is home to 8 municipalities, all of which will be holding elections in 2025. Westminster, Mt. Airy, Taneytown, Hampstead, Manchester, Sykesville, New Windsor and Union Bridge will all fill 2-3 council seats and four will elect mayors.
Historically, due to very low voter turnouts, winners in these races are decided by very small margins. It is here and at the county level where decisions are made that impact Carroll County residents every day. Examples of such decisions range from massive water restoration and modernization projects that cost millions of tax dollars to annexations for new commercial/residential developments to appointments of unelected decision makers that will contribute to the various master plans.
Even if you do not live within the limits of a municipality, there is a good chance that you know someone who does. We all have a responsibility to reach out to friends, neighbors and family to encourage them to be informed and to contribute whatever time they can. You can find out if you are within the limits of one of the eight municipalities by visiting the Carroll County Board of Elections.
